COMPSCI 230: Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science

Course Description: Discrete mathematics lays the foundation on which much of modern computer science rests. This course is an introduction to discrete mathematics, with topics selected based on their relevance to computer science. These include mathematical logic, set theory, mathematical methods of proof, combinatorics, probability, number theory, and graph theory.

ECO 3011: Intermediate Microeconomic Theory
Semester: Spring 2023
Instructor: Prof. Jieshuang He
Course Description: This comprehensive course covers microeconomics theory and its applications to human and social behavior. The primary focus of this course is on how individuals and societies deal with the fundamental economic problem of scarcity. The course begins with a discussion of basic concepts including consumer behaviors and firm theory. We then explore how the demand and supply come together and lead to equilibrium in a market. Throughout the course, particular emphasis is placed on how economic analysis may be used to explain a wide variety of contemporary policy issues, such as taxation, minimum wages, antitrust law, etc.

- Instructed 10 lower-grade classes in Chinese and Arts (Music)
- Served as the host and pianist in the art performance
- Undertook 3 post-class home visits to provide feedback and understand family backgrounds
- Interviewed villagers to investigate Miao cultural practices, local development, and student issues (e.g., dietetic hygiene, short-video addiction)
